About the teacher

My name is Diana Moore, and I have lived in Hove for nearly twenty five years with my husband and two daughters.

My background is in ballet teaching, and I worked for many years for the Royal Ballet Company as a dance notator and repetiteur (ballet producer). I have always done yoga, but began practising seriously in my 40's, in order to keep fit for my dance teaching and combat creeping middle-age spread! What started as a hobby soon became a passionate interest, as I discovered how much more there is to yoga than the physical asanas. I found the history, lineage and traditions of yoga fascinating and illuminating, and felt extremely fortunate to have discovered an exercise system which made me fitter than I have ever been in my life, yet nourished the mind as well as the body.

I hesitated a long time before training as a yoga teacher, feeling that I could never 'know enough' about this fascinating science to be able to teach others, but am delighted that I took the plunge and am now able to pass on my love of yoga to friends old and new. I trained with Anne-Marie Newland, the originator of the Sun Power method of yoga, and am now qualified to Level 3 on the Register of Exercise Professionals.

I look forward to welcoming you to my classes and hope that you enjoy participating as much as I enjoy teaching.
